Meeting People Where They Are: On the Streets, For the Streets
When the city falls asleep and shutters close against the night, thousands are still left beneath open skies, in cold weather and carrying hunger through long hours of uncertainty. On the Streets, For the Streets is Ramdhanu’s effort to stand beside those often overlooked by the rush of urban life. Rooted in compassion and immediacy, the initiative reaches street dwellers and children with essentials that bring warmth, nourishment, and relief during moments of urgent need.
Because not every child can step into a school, Ramdhanu steps out into the street. Every week, our senior Ramdhanu girls—with a teacher in charge—walk to pavements, flyovers, and street corners in South Kolkata to sit with street-connected children, feed them, and teach them with patience, love, and without judgment. We believe support should not wait behind walls or institutions; sometimes, it must walk directly onto the streets, carrying the reminder that no life should go unseen.

Immediate Relief & Warmth
We conduct blanket distribution drives during harsh winters, which become more than just protection from the cold—they provide a reassurance of security for those sleeping on pavements and railway platforms.
Nutritious Meals & Care
Through regular food distribution initiatives, we share freshly cooked, nutritious home-cooked meals. This simple act of sharing food helps the Ramdhanu family grow larger, opening its arms to those weathered by the harshness of life.
Open-Air Learning & Mentorship
Led by our own senior girls, we conduct street-side lessons under the open sky. These sessions include storytelling, songs, hands-on art to spark joy, and emotional care that builds deep trust with vulnerable street children.
